What’s more surprising: that ’90s teen-grunge act Silverchair has broken up or that they were still together? Either way, today brought the news of the band’s “indefinite hibernation” after nearly two decades. The revelation — and the reunion announcements constantly flooding our inbox — got us wondering about how many other bands that were lumped together under the ’90s alternative umbrella still exist in some form today. As far as we can tell, more of them continue to play than have (permanently) called it quits, from stalwarts like Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers to one-hit wonders such as Dishwalla and Primitive Radio Gods.
